Walks in Bouère and Le Mans

We invite you again to discover the departments of Mayenne and Sarthe in the Pays de Loire. To do so we propose you these two walks. The first concerns a hike on the Bouère side. As for the second, it is the discovery on foot of the city of Le Mans. We hope that the overview of these walks in Bouère and Le Mans will make you want to discover the charms of Sarthe and Mayenne.

The church: start of the walk in Bouère

Departure of the walk from Bouère

This walk begins at the car park of the church of Bouère. After a short hile along the road, we end up taking a path. That one will take us close to fields and water. It is therefore an opportunity to appreciate the simple beauty of a field in bloom or a still body of water. Moreover, the crossing of the stream below, will not be done as quietly as the photo suggests. Indeed, a treacherous stone will force one of us to finish the trip with wet shoes!

A country walk

We then plunge into a shaded path to reappear further next to what must have been a lime kiln. After letting our children go around the place, we resume our way through the fields. Finally, we end our walk with an unexpected encounter with a donkey.

A little jump in the car before leaving

As we are near a marble quarry, but tired from our walk, we decide to give way and take our car to take a look. We have no regrets, because the path offers few beautiful points of view. So we stop long enough to take a photo, then go home.

Le Mans: walks in the historic center

After visiting Laval, this time we decide to set our sights on Le Mans. Upon arrival, the tone is set: old half-timbered houses and a turret vestige of a rampart welcome us. The city famous for its 24 hours and its rillettes, is not left out in terms of historical heritage!

The old buildings of Le Mans

We left for two hours of walking in the alleys of the city. This allows us to admire the half-timbering (there is even a half-timbered turret!), The ramparts and all this under the supervision of Mr. Teddy Bear (you can see him from perched from his window?) …

The historic heart of the city is charming for lovers of old stones that we are. And so it is with beautiful images in our eyes that we leave Le Mans.

We hope that these walks in Bouère and Le Mans made you want to discover the region. In any case, you can also find our previous hikes below:
