The largest country in South America is full of assets to rejuvenate the travelers that we are. Between its exuberant nature, its beaches, its gastronomy and its music, the change of scenery is total. We offer you to discover in more detail why you are hiking in Brazil.
Because of its size, the country has no less than five different climates and as many landscapes carved by its hand. While it will be difficult to visit all the parks because of their remoteness, you will necessarily find one within reach no matter where you are. To name a few:
Brazil’s history is made up of large immigration flows. While Europeans make up the bulk of immigrants, Africans were also forcibly brought in during the years of slavery. In addition, many diasporas flocked: Japanese, Lebanese… (source wikipedia). Finally, indigenous peoples are still present, although regularly threatened. This diversity is related to the country’s cultural richness.
The cultural diversity mentioned below is inevitably found in Brazilian gastronomy. For example, the original dishes have often been adapted with local ingredients. To quote some of the typical Brazilian dishes:
Brazil’s cities are plentid and so are their charm. So if you like colors and colonial style then cities such as Recife (above), Salvador or Paraty are waiting for you. But if you prefer big cities and their feverish activity, then Rio de Janeiro is reaching out to you, or would you prefer Sao Paulo and its museums?
