Grand Morin loop hike

In this period of confinement, we suggest you get away from it all with a new hike in the Paris region. While waiting for better days, it is always possible to walk virtually … This time, it is the loop hike of the Grand Morin with a length of about 18 kms.

Start of the hike

The departure is from the parking lot of Guérard – La Celle sur Morin station. We turn five minutes before finding the right path. It will be the only moment of hesitation. Nevertheless, I always use a gps to check that we stay on the way … 😉

Walk through the hamlets

The first part of the walk consists of a path and a street through rural villages. At this time of year, we take advantage of flowering trees and old stones from old mansions.

We go deep in the forest

Okay, the title may be a little strong. We walk in the forest for a long time, but we are never far from the villages. Indeed, the hike allows you to go through different pieces of forest that almost touch. It is however very pleasant, especially since there are often rivers that decorate the path. It must be said that it rained a lot during the days before. Therefore, there are also muddy passages …

A final, more urban part

We join the road about 2.5 km before returning to Guérard-La Celle station in Morin, and we almost never leave it. The only exception is a small hook across fields. It’s not the coolest part of the hike, but it’s quite short.

In conclusion

A very nice day hike for the Paris region. It must be possible to see animals, because we have seen traces of doe or deer on several occasions. We also encountered a badger, unfortunately, he was lying dead on the side of the road. We add you some additional photos.
