In order to take advantage of the extension of our perimeter of freedom from one kilometer to twenty kilometers, we did this hiking in Bussy-Saint-Martin, at the limit of our field of action from our home. The latter is articulated between the park of Rentilly and the valley of the Brosse for about 3 hours of walk.
Departure in the park of Rentilly
The departure is from the entrance of the rue de Guermantes. The first hour of the hike mainly consists of walking in the park in order to admire its majestic trees, including some giant sequoias (not so giant for now).
It also makes it possible to see a building seeming composed only of mirrors. When searching about it, it is in fact a castle which has recently been rehabilitated in this amazing way in order to blend in with its green environment. If the result no longer evokes a castle, it is quite successful.
Many developments enamel the trees to provide homes for local wildlife. We mostly saw bat shelters, although we did not have the opportunity to see any. But this is not surprising, this one being a nocturnal animal.
Hiking in the forest
Once out of the park, the path is mainly in the woods in order to reach the Parc de la Brosse and its pond. In the park, it is obviously possible to organize disc golf (a kind of golf with Frisbee). Although we did not have the opportunity to see practitioners. This may add a bit of spice to the walk if we have to avoid throwing orange discs …
Last part along the ru de la Brosse
After the pond of Brosse, we follow the ru which will lead us to a second pond: that of Loy. We were lucky because we took advantage of the good timing to enjoy the sun setting over the lake. Moreover, a dilapidated pontoon, the access to which is supposed to be closed, offered us a nice point of view for you to enjoy.
Return to the park of Rentilly
The end of this walk is of no particular interest, especially since it was seriously getting dark. It just allows us to return to our starting point.
In conclusion
A very nice loop hike lasting about three hours (taking your time). On the other hand, if you are looking for solitude, go your way. Indeed, the park is relatively busy and so are the paths.
