The last day of our tour in Kyrgyzstan ends with a visit to Bishkek. Indeed, we have the morning in front of us before the departure of the plane. That’s enough for a glimpse of the city.
First impression of the Kyrgyz capital
If the weather is not so good, the rain allow to play with the reflections on the tar. We do not have a particular goal and so we follow the guide as he leads us through the streets. As we walk, the Kyrgyz capital leaves no doubt about its Soviet heritage: Monuments and statues are often massive.
Walk in Bishkek
We begin with the flame of the local unknown soldier and quickly reach a beautiful flowery park full of statues. In passing, we have the opportunity to enjoy some equestrian bronzes. On the other hand, the rain has decided not to stop, we have a coffee break. The latter, in addition to warming us, allows us to wait pleasantly the hour of the changing of the guard.
The changing of the guard
We are surprised at the location of the guards. Indeed, we passed the seat of government where no guard was visible. On the other hand, at the exit of a park, we come across two guards in their plastic hut … But what do they keep? Mystery … :-). Finally, after a short walk, we will eat at the restaurant.
The farewell meal
To celebrate this departure with dignity, we drink two beers with our guide. Besides, the capacity is worthy of Germany: 1 liter. So we find our driver to go to the airport. Suddenly, on the way, we are stopped by the police. Our driver descends to discuss the offense, probably a slight speeding. Fortunately our driver is an “old man” and respect for elders is very important in Kyrgyzstan. He gets away with a warning.
The departure of Kyrgyzstan
We arrive safely at the airport. After a warm goodbye, we pass the doors to go to boarding. The return flight with Aeroflot will go very well. Thus ends the visit to Bishkek and our adventure in Kyrgyzstan.
