Montgé hill hike

We invite you to discover a new hike in the Paris region. While waiting to go to regions more conducive to beautiful landscapes, it is still possible to make pretty walks in Ile de France. This time, it is the Montgé hill hike that we found on Visorando (in french).

Start of the Montgé hike

Start of the hike

The departure is from the parking lot of the Regional Estate of Saint-Thibault. The latter is not very clean and suggests that it is not good to be there in the evening. It is however the only moment of the ballad that is so. We then follow the track which sinks into the forest.

Stone tower

Passing through a park

We then join a pretty wooded park in which we see this old stone tower. She glances at our lens which can’t resist the urge to take a picture of it. We take a walk in the park before resuming our way. It turns out that we will come back to it during the return part of our loop.

Hut in the woods

There is tower and tower…

So we go back to the forest. It is an opportunity to appreciate the work of the elves of the woods. We come across several wooden huts on our way. Finally, we come to a second round. It has nothing to do with the first and for good reason! It is an herzian tower ….

Wireless tower

Let’s wander in the forest…

Once the tower passed, we continue our walk a little before a small lunch break. The weather is mischievous and it starts to rain a little when we eat … never mind, we start again.

Out of the forest

We end up arriving at the edge of the forest, facing fields. The weather being cloudy and somewhat humid, we are entitled to a beautiful ghostly mist … For a bit, and it feels like Scotland, right?

Remains of another time not so far away

This part of the hike is not the most pleasant because we quickly find ourselves following the road. However, it has some nice surprises in store for us, such as this abandoned Cuisy station. Through the opening of the disappeared door, we can see a tree growing, as if nature took back its rights …

Crossing villages

Inevitably, along the road, we end up falling on the village of Cuisy. Besides, we cross it by drawing the attention of the occupants of a land, between the gardens. It must be said that my partner hands him a nice tuft of grass :-).

It’s vertical there, right?

Continuing, we cross the heart of the village of Montgé with its church. If it is not necessarily a Gothic masterpiece, it attracts the eye for another reason. Indeed, seen from below, it would seem that the craftsmen did without any plumb line or level … None of the edges seem straight …

End of the hike

After these village crossings, we walk in the fields, then end up passing by the park that we had crossed before. Only a few tens of minutes walk and we are back in the parking lot.

Static pond

I hope this makes you want to go for this Montgé hill hike. On the other hand, a small point of attention if you are allergic to airplanes. Indeed, we hear them a lot on this ride. This did not prevent us from appreciating the variety of the route but I prefer to warn you. Find all our hikes on this page.
